Tulsi offers In in-person sessions at our Etobicoke Location as well as Virtual Therapy in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta.

Growing up in a typical Gujarati household in a country like Kenya, one would wonder what my life must have been like – and so let me tell you, it had its fair share of ups and downs. Despite the challenging downs, I always found a way to appreciate the ups and learn from the lows.

A fair amount of times, it is challenging to unpack feelings and emotions and deal with distress, and so my role in YOUR healing journey will be to help you create a space for yourself to regulate your emotions, reflect on your thoughts, feel heard and make the changes you strive for. Working from a culturally responsive lens. My experience includes working with teens, couples and individuals experiencing stress, depression, relationship issues, anxiety, low self-esteem, time management, and various other concerns.

I adopt an eclectic approach in therapy, which means I draw from various therapy models depending on our collaborative goals. However, I am certified in dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT) and EFT couples, and I am pursuing a certificate in complex trauma as well. Aside from having a solid educational background, I also believe that culture and trauma play a key role in our experiences. You and I will work collaboratively, via a culturally appropriate lens, to support you in working through your concerns in therapy.

After moving to Canada at the age of 18, I realized how important it was for me to look after my physical, mental and social self; as an international student, away from family and friends. I have come a long way in understanding the struggles that isolation, anxiety and stress can bring, and have since become very passionate about supporting anyone that’s struggling with similar challenges. From then to now, singing and music have been my best friends, comfort food and I get along very well, and spending time with myself reading, learning and knitting brings me joy.

If you are reading this, it’s likely that you’d like to make a change, so let’s connect for a no-charge 20-minute consultation, and let’s figure out how I can help!

Being an international student can be incredibly rewarding, but also deeply exhausting.

You’re adapting to a new culture, managing expectations from home, juggling school, finances, maybe even a job, all while trying to find your place. It’s no wonder burnout can creep in quietly.
Here’s your gentle reminder:
✨ Take breaks.
🥗 Nourish your body.
🛌 Get enough rest.
🧘‍♀️ Slow down and breathe.
💬 Talk it out.
🤝 Find your people. You’re allowed to take care of yourself, you’re human first. Read more about the international student experience on our website blog post.#internationalstudents #burnoutsupport #mentalhealthmatters #studentwellbeing #restisproductive #youmatter #mentalhealthawareness

Pride began as protest. As we celebrate, we remember the Black and Brown queer and trans communities who led the way.At Shanti Psychotherapy, solidarity means unlearning, growing, and showing up, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Because if liberation doesn’t include queer and trans people, it’s not liberation. This Pride Month, and always, we honour the legacy, resilience, and joy of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. 🌈💖#PrideMonth #2SLGBTQIA #QueerJoy #TransRightsAreHumanRights #TherapistsForJustice #ShantiPsychotherapy #MentalHealthMatters #PrideIsPolitical
