As a first generation immigrant therapist of mixed Japanese and Caucasian background. Understanding yourself isn’t always straightforward. Together, we’ll explore your identity, ask new questions, and create space for the changes that you want, guided by your values, not assumptions.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to navigate what you’re going through. Whether that’s anxiety, life transitions, grief, trauma, depression, or challenges with identity, self-worth, school or relationships. These experiences are heavy and isolating, but you don’t have to move through them alone.
I work with Adults, University/College age students, Teens, Children, and Families to create a supportive space where you can feel understood, grounded, and empowered. Together, we can explore what’s been weighing on you, build coping tools that feel realistic, and help you move toward greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance.
Whether you’re trying to manage academic stress, make sense of a major life change, or improve your relationships, I aim to meet you where you are, with compassion, curiosity, and evidence based care.
My work is grounded in a Relational, Psychodynamic approach, meaning we pay attention to your relationship with yourself, others, and what shows up between us in therapy as a source of insight and growth. I also integrate CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and family/parenting work to help you understand your inner experiences with greater clarity and compassion.
I bring a foundation in Art Therapy and Play Therapy, using creative approaches when words feel limiting. These methods can help you move beyond overthinking, express what’s harder to name, and connect with yourself in new, meaningful ways. I practice with cultural humility, remaining attentive to how identity and broader systems shape your experiences.
My experience as a parent has deeply shaped how I support clients. Parenting is both meaningful and humbling, and it has strengthened my understanding of the complexities many children, teens and families navigate today. Especially across cultural backgrounds and life contexts.
Parenting has also reinforced the importance of skills like boundary-setting, compassion, and self-regulation, tools that are valuable not only in parenting, but across all stages of life and relationships.
I consider myself very fortunate to do work that I am so passionate about and I look forward to hearing from you for a free 20 minute consultation!
