She / Her

Welcome! I’m Paro

I came to this work through my own journey of self-reflection, healing, and navigating complicated family and relationship dynamics. Along the way, I learned just how powerful it is to feel truly seen and how heavy things can feel when we don’t.

I’m Pranoti “Paro” Kulkarni, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I offer sessions virtually and in person at the Toronto location.

That experience continues to guide how I show up in therapy: grounded, curious, and genuinely invested in your story.

How I Can Support You

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, procrastinating, emotionally stuck, or caught in patterns that keep repeating, whether in your own life or in your relationship, you are not alone. Reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, and it also takes courage.

I am experienced supporting Children (10+), Teens, Individuals, Couples and Families navigating a wide range of challenges, such as relationship conflicts, life transitions, Borderline Personality Disorder, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and Emotional Overwhelm. I can also support those struggling with Perfectionism, People-Pleasing, Poor Self-Esteem/Self-Worth, as well as anyone exploring their Identity or Navigating Cultural Expectations and Work/School related Burnout.

With Couples, I support partners, using strategies grounded in emotion focused therapy and The Gottman Method for Couples, who feel disconnected, stuck in recurring conflicts, or unsure how to communicate without things escalating. My focus is on emotional safety, understanding underlying patterns, and helping you move from reactivity toward connection and repair.

Sessions with me are warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental, a place where we can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.

My Approach

My work is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps us understand and build compassion for the different parts of ourselves, especially the ones that feel anxious, critical, overwhelmed, or protective. DBT skills, Mindfulness, and Polyvagal-informed practices are integrated to support emotional regulation and nervous system safety.

Rather than trying to “fix” you or your relationship, I believe therapy is about understanding yourself more deeply, building self-trust, and learning new ways of responding to old patterns. Therapy with me is conversational, skills based, reflective, and paced to what feels right for you.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: healing happens when we feel safe enough to be honest, curious enough to explore, and supported enough to change.

Sitting with feelings, especially difficult ones, is a hard but important skill. Tolerating and soothing difficult feelings until they pass is an important skill that for most people is not taught or modeled well in our society that tends to avoid intense feelings. 💪🏽This ability bolsters our other skills of practicing grace, processing our emotions and allowing ourselves to move forwards towards the goals and life we want to curate. It’s important to explore and be curious about the emotions we are experiencing, to recognize what they are, to allow yourself to feel them. All emotions can be observed and supported with compassion until the feelings lesson.✨#emotionfocusedtherapy #therapytoronto #therapiststoronto #southasiantherapist #
