Are you trying to set boundaries and unlearn patterns that have quietly shaped your life? Patterns rooted in cultural expectations, family dynamics, anxious thinking or relationships that no longer feel like they fit? You are not alone, and change is possible.

Culture and our upbringing play a powerful role in how we see ourselves and move through the world. When what we were taught clashes with what we actually want, it can leave us feeling stuck, guilty, and unsure. I help clients work through that tension, not by asking them to choose between their culture and their needs, but by finding where the two can coexist.

As a first-generation Canadian from the Tamil culture and the child of immigrant parents, I understand this from the inside. I grew up needing to step up, hold things together, and set boundaries I wasn’t always taught how to set. That lived experience shapes how I show up with clients, with genuine understanding, not just theory.

I work with individuals and couples (ages 14+) navigating relationship issues, the aftermath of narcissistic abuse, depression, anxiety and the emotional intensity often associated with those diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I offer a clinical space that is steady, non-judgmental and rooted in your full context: cultural, relational, and personal. It’s how we can change and heal.

Using primarily Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), I help clients move from what feels stuck to a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

I am proud to be a member of Shanti’s Making Therapy Accessible Program, and offer sliding scale sessions between $60–$120, as assessed by our team.

If any of this resonates with you, please reach out today to book a session or a free 20 minute consultation. Taking this first step is often the hardest part, and together we can figure out what’s next !

Do you find yourself replaying conversations, expecting the worst, or getting stuck in the same thoughts over and over again?Anxiety can make it difficult to switch off, even when you know your thoughts aren’t helping. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps you identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge them, and develop practical tools to respond differently.Learn how CBT can help you break free from cycles of worry and build healthier ways of coping.📞 Book a free consultation to learn more: https://www.shantipsychotherapy.ca/#CBT #AnxietySupport #Overthinking #MentalHealthSupport #Psychotherapy

“Narcissism” is a word we hear often — but it’s more than confidence or a big ego.
Narcissistic patterns can include manipulation, lack of accountability, and a strong need for admiration, often leaving others feeling confused, invalidated, or emotionally drained.Understanding these dynamics can help you recognize what’s happening and begin to set healthier boundaries.
You are allowed to protect your well-being.If you’re struggling in a relationship impacted by these patterns, therapy can provide support, clarity, and tools to move forward.Learn more on our website, in a blog post by Registered Psychotherapist Rashmi Kumar!#narcissism #mentalhealth #therapy #boundaries selfawareness healing emotionalhealth psychotherapy
