He / Him

I know first-hand how difficult it can be to take that first step into therapy. I remember what it felt like to sit in my therapist’s office for the first time, nervous, unsure, wondering if I could really open up. As such, I’m committed to creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are. You can laugh, cry, shout or simply sit in silence. Whatever you bring, I’m here to meet you there with warmth, curiosity and compassion to work on the parts of your life that need to be better.

Specializing in men’s mental health and supporting adults (18+) through concerns such as Anxiety, Mood Issues, Self-Confidence, Relationship Difficulties, Work Stress, Anger, Family Issues, Cultural Identity and Adjustment, Academic Pressure/Fear of Failure, Mindfulness and Major Life Transitions. These challenges often show up quietly, in the negative way you talk to yourself, in the tension you carry emotionally and physically or in moments you feel disconnected from who you used to be or want to be.

Maybe you’ve learned to stay silent to keep the peace or to handle everything on your own because that’s what was expected of you. Maybe you’re navigating cultural and academic pressures, fear of failure, trying to belong in new environments or grieving the loss of familiar worlds. I deeply understand how heavy and isolating these experiences and transitions can feel.

In therapy, we’ll slow things down and make sense of where patterns come from, why they show up the way they do and what they might be trying to protect. My goal is to help you reconnect with your emotions, needs and voice, especially the parts of you that have long been dismissed, never feel good enough or are overlooked. Together, we’ll work toward a more grounded, confident and mentally healthy way of being.

In our work together, I draw on Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, focusing on how you’re feeling in the moment and how those feelings shape the way you experience yourself and the world. We’ll explore how your past influences your present, the unconscious memories, beliefs and patterns that quietly guide your reactions and relationships. With insight and new skills, these old patterns can be adjusted and changed in a short period of time.

A little about me: I’ve spent half my life in Canada and half in Hong Kong, and I know the weight of moving between cultures, rebuilding belonging and finding your voice in spaces where silence is often expected. Outside the therapy room, I’m an avid gamer, reader and enjoy long walks in the park (as long as it’s not winter).

Sessions are offered both virtually and in person at Danforth and Pape in English and Cantonese.

If something here resonates, I encourage you to reach out for a free 20-minute phone or video consultation.

I’m confident that, together, we can create meaningful shifts in your life and help you move toward the clarity and ease you deserve!

Not every relationship that starts with connection ends in safety.Toxic relationships often develop slowly — through patterns that create confusion, self-doubt, and emotional exhaustion. Over time, you may find yourself questioning your feelings, minimizing your needs, or walking on eggshells.Recognizing these patterns is the first step.Healing takes time, support, and self-compassion.

“Narcissism” is a word we hear often — but it’s more than confidence or a big ego.
Narcissistic patterns can include manipulation, lack of accountability, and a strong need for admiration, often leaving others feeling confused, invalidated, or emotionally drained.Understanding these dynamics can help you recognize what’s happening and begin to set healthier boundaries.
You are allowed to protect your well-being.If you’re struggling in a relationship impacted by these patterns, therapy can provide support, clarity, and tools to move forward.Learn more on our website, in a blog post by Registered Psychotherapist Rashmi Kumar!#narcissism #mentalhealth #therapy #boundaries selfawareness healing emotionalhealth psychotherapy

Sitting with feelings, especially difficult ones, is a hard but important skill. Tolerating and soothing difficult feelings until they pass is an important skill that for most people is not taught or modeled well in our society that tends to avoid intense feelings. 💪🏽This ability bolsters our other skills of practicing grace, processing our emotions and allowing ourselves to move forwards towards the goals and life we want to curate. It’s important to explore and be curious about the emotions we are experiencing, to recognize what they are, to allow yourself to feel them. All emotions can be observed and supported with compassion until the feelings lesson.✨#emotionfocusedtherapy #therapytoronto #therapiststoronto #southasiantherapist #
