Welcome to this space!

From a very young age, I have always been curious about what causes suffering and how one can heal. I’m glad you are here.

Often, seeking therapy can be a daunting process as you begin to uncover parts of you that are vulnerable. In my practice, I ensure that I provide a place to explore your suffering or what you want to change in your life without shame, judgment, or criticism.

If you are a teenager, adult or couple, I can support you with building healthy relationships, marital stress and conflict, dealing with chronic illness, struggles with anger, overthinking and anxiety, depression, codependency, grief and any of your life transitions. I understand deeply that there are times in life when our thoughts and functioning become misaligned from how we want to be.

My training as a Registered Psychotherapist and my experience in evidence-based practices such as Mindfulness, Emotions-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic, and Experiential therapies have developed my integrative approach to holistic psychotherapy. I know the body, mind, and spirit are interconnected, so I work from the philosophy that every person is unique in their needs and how they can shift away from unhelpful patterns. Each person has wisdom within them, and I honour this wisdom.

As for me, I grew up in a marginalized culture and faced many challenges of discrimination and inequality. These struggles further fueled my curiosity and passion to inquire into how to alleviate suffering. My own personal journey has been to work on having healthy relationships, becoming vulnerable and being open to accepting parts of myself that are hidden and facing life’s many trials and tribulations.

I constantly strive to learn and grow as a professional and as an individual so that I can provide the best care to my clients. I invite you to give yourself an opportunity to grow from your challenges. Please feel free to book a 20-minute no-fee consultation to explore if we are a good fit!

🧠 What is Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)?

DBR is a cutting-edge, neuroscience-informed trauma therapy that helps people process unresolved trauma by working with the brainstem, the part of the brain responsible for our most instinctive survival responses.Unlike traditional therapy, DBR doesn’t start with the story of what happened. Instead, it gently tracks the sequence of internal reactions that occurred at the time of the trauma, beginning with the body’s orienting response to a perceived threat, followed by tension and emotional shock.By helping the nervous system complete these original protective responses in a safe and supported way, DBR allows for deep healing at the level where trauma is first held, often without the need to relive or retell painful memories in detail. If you’re feeling stuck in patterns of fear, hypervigilance, emotional shutdown, or reactivity, DBR might be a helpful path forward. Reach out to us at Shanti to learn more or book a consultation.#dbrtherapy #deepbrainreorientingtherapy #deepbrainreorienting #traumatherapy #traumahealing #intergenerationaltrauma

Pride began as protest. As we celebrate, we remember the Black and Brown queer and trans communities who led the way.At Shanti Psychotherapy, solidarity means unlearning, growing, and showing up, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Because if liberation doesn’t include queer and trans people, it’s not liberation. This Pride Month, and always, we honour the legacy, resilience, and joy of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. 🌈💖#PrideMonth #2SLGBTQIA #QueerJoy #TransRightsAreHumanRights #TherapistsForJustice #ShantiPsychotherapy #MentalHealthMatters #PrideIsPolitical
