Hello, my name is Jennifer Abbotts. After ten years as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), I am now practicing Psychotherapy (Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto.
What this means for my clients is that I have a decade of training and experience in understanding physiology, pathology, the nervous system, and a holistic view of how the body and mind integrate to create a person’s lived experience.
This combined experience and training can help to support you with changing issues such as anxiety, unhelpful thinking patterns, difficulties with relationships in your life, poor self-esteem, grief and loss and feelings of depression.
I can help you with the ability to start to focus on what is happening in the moment and how it might relate to the life experience you have had so far. With compassion and at your pace my goal is to support you to work within what feels comfortably uncomfortable for you. This is the edge where change is possible.
I am known for bringing warmth, empathy, kindness, and grounding to my clients as an RMT, which is translatable to psychotherapy. In addition, I am building an understanding of how culture and appearance create a different experience from my own in Canada. I welcome an open dialogue and understand that we will have differences.
You are the expert of your life, and I would love to support you in normalizing that experience. Let’s explore together how that has brought you here and support shifts that increase your well-being. I look forward to working with you and welcome you to book a 20-minute no-charge consultation.
